Last week, all four of Artist Village artists - Chloe Brooks, Ali Eisa, Brian Griffiths, and Milly Peck - spent time in Southend making plans and developing their new public art commissions which will be shown in Chalkwell Park during and after Village Green this year.
Organiser of the project Jon Kipps said: 'This week has been a fantastic chance for the artists to spend time in Southend, not only familiarising themselves with the park in which they will be exhibiting, but also visiting key sites around the town, researching local histories and connecting with local groups and organisations. As a group we have been talking through lots of exciting initial ideas and I’m very much looking forward to helping develop these further with the artists involved. We will soon be launching a dedicated web space with lots more info on what’s happening so do look out for that!'
Join us at Metal's Future Park event on 13 June where the artists will discuss their ideas for the park - more information and a booking link coming soon!
Artist Village has been made possible through kind support from Arts Council England and Metal.
