BBC Essex VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Do you or someone you know want to work in the media? Fancy being a BBC Essex volunteer for a day?

Then look no further.

Metal in association with their media partners, BBC ESSEX, are looking to recruit two special volunteers to help presenter Rob Jelly run and report from the Clever Essex stage at this year’s Village Green festival on Saturday 8 July in Chalkwell Park.

The two roles that can be applied for are: -

BBC PRODUCTION VOLUNTEER

You will be working with the BBC Outside Broadcast team as the cover the much loved local Village Green festival in Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea on Saturday 8 July. Your role will be to assist with the smooth running of the live broadcasts and help manage the new Clever Essex stage with BBC ESSEX favourite, Rob Jelly, and his team. You must be over 18, confident, outgoing and able to think on your feet. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to take the initiative but who can be a team player and who is willing to turn their hand to anything. But most of all you should be committed to a career in the media.

BBC MEDIA VOLUNTEER

You will be required to record some of the lively events taking place on and around the new Clever Essex stage at the Village Green festival. You should have a good eye for visual imagery and a gut instinct to capture the moment before it happens! You will also be using your skills to assist BBC ESSEX with their social media output for the day, as well as recording the event for posterity. Applicants must be over 18. You should be confident, outgoing and social media savvy and be able to film and edit across a variety of social media programmes.

Applications close at midnight on 14 June. Successful applicants will be contacted by 19 June for interviews.

Successful applicants would be required to attend Health and Safety briefings on Wednesday 21 June 5pm till 8pm at Chalkwell Hall. And a volunteer meeting tbc (usually Wednesday or Thursday prior to Village Green).
