After ten successful editions of Village Green, Metal are now looking to secure an independent future for the popular, community-focused festival.
The opportunity for skills development for people of all ages – but particularly children and young people – has always been a key strength of how Metal have run Village Green and Village Green: Next Generation. We are in the process of developing a plan that has place-based skills development for the live entertainment industry at its heart – delivering Village Green, and other events as part of its programme.
We will use the year of 2020 to continue to develop this plan, focusing initially on a skills offer and the children’s festival day Village Green: Next Generation – taking the opportunity to fully align the programme with OFSTED and curriculum requirements.
Metal will continue to deliver an exciting programme of artists in residence, LABs, events from Chalkwell Hall, NetPark Wellbeing Programme, Metal Art School and other large events such as Essex Writers House and Estuary 2020 where there will be a number of opportunities for freelance staff, volunteers, traders and suppliers to get involved and continue to work with us.
