Village Green Next Generation event happens on Friday - the day before the main Village Green festival day, utilising the large-scale festival infrastructure that Metal puts in place for the festival.
This FREE one-day festival for primary and secondary schools celebrates and supports the creative talents of young people in Southend. In 2017, we celebrated the day with over 5000 young people and their teachers.
Everything on the stages is performed by young people, with the occasional help from a few very special guests! We encourage school bands, dance groups, choirs and orchestras to come along and perform on a professional festival stage, showcasing their talents. This is a unique opportunity for children to immerse themselves in music, art and culture.
Join us and discover art in all forms, including music, theatre, spoken word, dance, film, visual art, comedy, film-making, circus skills, journalism, technical skills and much, much more.
All attendees will have the opportunity to sign up to amazing workshops led by artists and creative professionals.
If you’d like to find out more, either as an attendee with your school or as a workshop leader / artist, email us on chalkwell (AT) metalculture.com.
For school there is a registration form on our website - HERE - please apply by 1 May 2019.
