BACK FOR HIS 5TH YEAR TO WHIP UP THE CROWDS ON THE MAIN STAGE, it's our resident Village Green compere beyond compare DARYL EASLEA - and he's as much of a gent as ever he was...
Writer, DJ, compere, and consultant to record companies, Daryl Easlea’s books explore his favourite loves; great pop eccentrics, populist African-American music and prog rock (he has written biographies of Chic, Sparks, Peter Gabriel and Michael Jackson).
His work can be found in Mojo, Record Collector, Prog, Bass Guitar, bbc.co.uk and in lots of other places, too. He also compiles and annotates CDs.
Aside from regular BBC Essex appearances, his radio broadcasting can be heard on SHIP FULL OF BOMBS; he has DJ’ed at festivals such as V, Big Chill, & Fling, and at locations as varied as the Tate Modern Turbine Hall, Abbey Road Studios and the Croisette at Cannes.
He can also be seen in the BBC4 documentaries Tubular Bells: The Mike Oldfield Story and Nile Rodgers: The Hitmaker.
He is delighted to be returning to compere our Village Green Stage (as well as joining his compadres in Middle Age Spread to DJ) for the fifth year running.
