J. D. IRWIN - CHILDREN'S AUTHOR

Julie Irwin was born in London in 1964. Her debut novel, Edwin Spencer Mission Improbable, was published in 2010 and was the first in the Edwin Spencer comic fantasy trilogy. She now lives in Southend-on-Sea and finds it impossible to write anything without trying to be funny.  Julie’s sessions are all about ideas and fun, but the main event is the parallel worlds’ game: children pool ideas to create schools in both a perfect world and a truly awful world. School trips to the graveyard at midnight ... chocolate fountains in every classroom ... zombie dinner ladies serving eyeball stew ... The ideas are endless, and all designed to spark the imagination and fuel enthusiasm for reading and writing. 

Julie will be playing games and bringing Edwin Spencer to life for us in Jacqson Diego's Written Tent at 4.15pm, followed by a book signing in the Book Shop at 5pm.
