Interview by Rupashri Chatterjee, Work Experience Student from Westcliff High School for Girls.

Kei Maye, from North London, was born into a creative family of musicians, poets, sculptors and more. After going to university, like many students of creative subjects, she was faced with a series of rejections and had to work a job that didn’t truly allow for creative output. But one day, she changed her mind and decided to take a risk. Kei based her income and life from then on around creativity. As a result, she’s had a flourishing career. She has exhibited her work in numerous showcases and exhibitions, sold on retailers like Not On The High Street, worked as a curator, taught art and been involved in panels. Now she lives a life she loves - involved in digital product designing, and creative coaching. Kei helps others in the position she once was to lead a successful creative life.  Here are some questions we decided to ask prior to the Grrrl Zine Fair.
