A production line creating handmade callibration devices
Redhawk Logistica was established in 2008 by Rob Hewitt as an unlimited vehicle to create cultural products, along with other collaborators, that challenge notions of public ownership, authenticity and freedom of expression.
Most of the work is made to be experienced in public spaces and designed to be seen as part of a city's street culture, rather than being ghettoised as art. Many of the interventions are subliminal or ambient in their execution, adding to the atmosphere and meaning of a place.
Low tech materials and easily replicated processes are characteristic of much of the work, which rejects highly skilled techniques in favour of pragmatic and sometimes agricultural aesthetics.
